...Obviously if you didnt even birth/ already had your baby.

I am due next week and if he doesnt appear before then I am planning to have a treat day (anything to distract me)

So far I am planning to be:

.Indulging in a long bath/ doing my nails.
.Eating yummy food all day- hopefully from M&S
.Having a lovely meal with dp- prob M&S meal deal thing.
.Making a cake- takes up time and can play with my new icing equipment (something I probably wont be able to do for a while once he is here)

So what did you do?
Do you wish you did something that you didn't do?
Do you have any (cheap) ideas?

Tia

i actaully bothered my arse to make some big pans of food to put in the freezer - we now have two weeks worth of yummy dinners in the freezer.

I went for a big walk and prodded bump and told her to hurry up - made no difference!

thislittlesisterlola · 01/07/2010 15:19

I have to do that at some point too haggis I really cant be bothered!
how is your pillow/cushion positioning going? (From the optimal positioning thread)

Had her weighed and thanked the lord she'd come out early, she was 10lb.
Oh sorry, you're saying if they're still in there, my friend suggests a hot curry.

Haggisfish · 01/07/2010 16:49

far too hot for curry! the pillow/cushioning thing is not going well as lounging on the sofa is much comfier! Will try and get it set up after I have done some ironing...I have never been so housewifely in my life! I am rather pleased I have managed to get some food in the freezer - I have got some reduced ready meals from supermarkets as well, so they have gone in freezer as well.

LittleSilver · 01/07/2010 19:25

Go out and do something fun! Don't sit at home whatever you do! One of my very special memories is of DH and I walking along a beach, knowing our lives were about to change forever.

KnitterNotTwitter · 01/07/2010 19:29

I went for a reflexology session - lovely and relaxing. And she said to come back 3 days later, after my next midwife appointment if the labour hadn't started, and she'd press the points that bring on labour. So I went back 3 days later, she pressed the points and labour started 8 hours later, baby out 7 hours after that!!

KnitterNotTwitter · 01/07/2010 19:30

Oooh and I got my sister to take unflattering photos of me being huge!!

WillbeanChariot · 01/07/2010 19:33

Visted DS in hospital and celebrated him being 13 weeks old!

Not what you were looking for I know... My friend who gave birth last week at 40+9 kille time with the Twilight Saga.

littleducks · 01/07/2010 19:38

I went shopping (apparently if your waters break in m and s or asda they send you goodies!)

I distinctly remember telling the woman behind the till in whsmiths "today" in a less than cheered voice when she asked when i was due

NoahAndTheWhale · 01/07/2010 19:41

Went to the 2nd birthday party of one of DS's friends. Endured many people asking if I was still pregnant. Felt tempted to say that I was just hiding a baby in there but managed not to .

With DS I think I had a haircut which I hadn't managed to do before he was born as I was in and out of hospital for about 3 weeks from 35 weeks. He was born at 38+3

weegiemum · 01/07/2010 19:43

due date No1 - came home form hospital with 4 day old dd1

due date No 2 - had a 10 day old ds

due date No 3 - I had a 3 week old dd2

I never got to a due date!!!!

notso · 01/07/2010 19:52

On DD's due date,
Had good sex, spent an hour with DH sorting out our cd collection (we'd only been living together for 2 weeks) had a bath, checked my hospital bag yet again, had more good sex, then waters broke just as all DH's friends arrived to watch FA Cup final, m'wahhahah

With DS
Had a lie in then had a bath. Checked hospital bag again.
Went for a massive walk with DH (DD was away as I was convinced I would go on the day) had a panini which I threw up about half an hour later.
Answered a million annoying phone calls to ask if there was any news.
Checked hospital bag again, tidied house, ironed, begged DH for sex, bounced on birthing ball, had crap sex (dh reluctant), twiddled nipples, went disapointedly to sleep.
He ended up being 8 days over due.

PandaEis · 01/07/2010 19:53

i went and got my hair cut and read a book. watched a film and sulked mainly i was CONINCED i would have her before my DD which was right after christmas and i ended up going 11 days overdue i must just have a comfy uterus

PandaEis · 01/07/2010 19:54

that should be CONVINCED

Hulababy · 01/07/2010 20:04

I sat about a lot durng the day, then decided that I would, after all, go to the family meal at a pub in a nearby town (hour away). Did that, had a nice time, came home. DD was finally born a fortnight later, after an induction and then c section.

MunchMummy · 01/07/2010 20:04

DD1 came a week early.

DD2 - was at the library sing and music session with DD1.

DD2 arrived 2 days later.

OnlyWantsOne · 01/07/2010 20:05

I went out for lunch with my mum, called in at sister's house on way home and went on her trampoline. Que labour 3 hours later - hello baby!

Marjee · 01/07/2010 20:19

I had a massive cleaning session in my old flat and handed my keys over to the letting agent (we moved 10 days before my due date)! Went into labour the following night.

JamieJay · 01/07/2010 20:36

This is something that I've been pondering as my due date (next month) is actually my 30th birthday so feel I should mark it if I'm not giving birth that day!!

No ideas how yet though

notso · 01/07/2010 20:52

JamieJay, my 30th is 5 days before my due date in December, I am planning a big meal out , inviting loads of people as hopefully it will be sods law I'll miss it as I'm in labour.
Planning on a proper piss-up party next July.

NoahAndTheWhale · 02/07/2010 22:14

My 30th birthday was 8 days before my due date with DD. I just did impressions of an elephant. Still feel somewhat cheated out of a big do (am planning impressive 40th birthday party in 5 years time)

mummytosquidgies · 03/07/2010 23:18

With DS I sat in the garden on my laptop while DH was at work, then when he came home we just had a normal evening, went for a walk etc. Hope it would happen soon, turned out we were waiting for another 10 days!

With this one we'll have a just over a week old, elective section this time round at 38+6. It's the one thing I'm sad I'm not doing, the waiting for it to happen, and the excitement of it all!

Got my show at 5am. Started contractions. Really wasn't sure if I was in labour or not. Walked to the hospital with DP (bout 25 mins walk) for an appointment at 10. Consultant took one look at me and told me to go home and relax. Walked home. Stocked up on food in corner shop. Sent DP to work at 3 because he was driving me nuts. Packed and unpacked and repacked hospital bag. DP arrived home from work at 10 and drove me nuts. Got a taxi to hospital at 1.30am. (far too early!) DS arrived at 5pm the next day, in the middle of a huge thunderstorm
