I Gave birth to DD 6 months ago and BF for 4 months. I got my first period this morning, but have just noticed when i went to change my pad that i had passed a (4cm x 4cm ish) piece of someting that looks like placenta/ membranes (not a clot) , The bleeding is not particularly heavy and i don't have any pain. should i get checked out by a doc or just wait and see if anything else happens?

Advice from anyone who has experience of this or medical knowledge would be appreciated.

I haven't experienced this, but no harm can cm from speaking to a gp/ midwife. x

it's maybe worth a call to out of hours but chances are it's just your body getting back into the swing of menstruating. clotting is common in first few periods after childbirth.

try not to worry.
