TTC baby 2, DS was emcs - some questions...

I just have a few questions about my potential second baby (not even conceived yet, ut there's nothing like thinking ahead!! )

DS was emcs after about 20 hours of labour - I got stuck at 9cm and he got distressed. I've since had a debrief and the midwife said he was back to back but it wasn't picked up on until about 4 hours before he was born. She said there was no reason I couldn't go for a VBAC net time.

Anyway, I wanted to know - did anyone find it difficult conceiving after c-section? I can't help but wonder if the scar tissue on the womb might affct implantation?

Also, I've heard second labours are genrally a bit quicker and easier - would mine still count as a second labour even though I only did the first stage?

Thanking you in advance!

Hi

I had no trouble conceiving my second after a cs - in fact DS1 took 2 years and clomid, DS2 was a bit of an accident when DS1 was just 10mo!!

I went for a vbac - it was classed as my first labour as I hadnt actually got past the latent stage with DS1. However, you have laboured, just not birthed. A lot of 2nd labours are quicker and easier, but its not a given thing. My 2nd was just 4hours for 4-10cm dilation but he still ended up in a cs as he was just too big.

If you main problem was your DS's positioning, there are plenty of threads about optimum labour positions etc that could help you get a successful vbac

i conceived with no problem with DC2 after a year. i had a c section too and it does not seem to have affected my pregnancy. dc2 is due on the 4th july so i am hoping for a quickish birth. last one was 36 hours!

It took 2 months to conceive my child after I had had dc1 by emergency section. It took one month with him. I didn't go into labour though so dc2 was totally a new experience.

Labour wise, dc2 I started at 9.30pm with contraction, took 20 minutes to push her out and she was born at 9.25pm.

I had a retained placenta with her which is a risk after a section but I never knew.

dc3 I started again at 9.30pm but dc3 was born at 10.15am after 7 minutes of pushing.
