Pssaries

Am doing some research as consultant flagged up the "induction" idea to happen on Monday (which is Midsummer's day, so a nice sounding day for it to happen on) as will be 42+1 by scan. Anyway - pessaries.... I understand that they can bring on uber big contractions. Are you allowed in a birthing pool with them? Obviously I'm hoping a sweep tomorrow will nudge things along and that Junior will take it into her own head to get moving.

Would depend - at my hospital all pools in MLU and so wouldn't be possible if your had a pessary which would have necessitated you being on labour ward. Worth discussing.

I was induced with pessary and started on seperate induction ward. Passary stays in for 24 hours unless contractions become too strong in which case they will take out earlier. They allowed me to have bath with pessary in so would assume ok for birthung pool. Best to ask midwife.
