Periods after birth

hi,

I gave birth to b/g twins naturally back in February.

I ebf them for 6 weeks but after 3 infections I had to give up the breastmilk and go on to formula.

Since then my periods have been all over the place!

At the moment I'm clear for 1 week, spot for 1 week and bleed for one week (3 week cycle)

I'm back on my combined pill but it doesn't seem to have any effect on when it arrives. Before getting pregnant my cycle was 4 weeks without fail.

I've spoken to the doctor and she said it could take a month or two to get back to normal. However in the meantime the frequent bleeding is giving me borderline aneamia (sp) which is annoying.

Can anyone give me advice on when their cycle got back to 'normal' - or if it ever did!

Thank you - your feedback will hopefully make me feel a bit more normal!

JG.

hey i feel for you chick! im exactly the same! i spot for a few days then stop then i get brownish spotting few days then stop, then a little bleed then spotting.. uck!! so annoying! and i had my DD 8 months ago, i just went back on the pill and so far i havnt had anything, i went to the clinic about it and was told it could take up to a year to get back to normal and was nothing to worry about, but its so frustrating! however now it hasnt been as bad as it was at the start. i think its just another wonderful part of pregnancy and birth lol, i cant tell you when it will stop or ease anym but i can tell you, you are not alone x

Thanks glasgowmandy.

I just had no idea that it would carry on for so long. I'm due a smear test (annually required after loop treatment) and it's difficult to know what I'll get a clear week to get it done.

I'm glad I'm not alone (although I'm sorry you're going through it too).
