3rd Degree Tear- Follow up appointments and scan??

Hello,

After suffering a 3c tear in January, I have been offered a follow up scan and consultant appointment to check all has healed properly. The scan is scheduled for a couple of weeks and the follow up appointment not until November.

Im just wondering what to expect? Im not expecting the scan to be pleasant but is it really awful? also keen to know what will be discussed at the follow up appointment... future births etc? I had a 6 week check with a consultant and it was awful. He asked if everything was ok, I said "I think so" and that was it. Hoping this will be a more detailed and put my concerns to rest.

Any advice appreciated. Any questions I should be asking? BTW, not experiencing any problems as yet so most of my worries are about the future.

Have you found the Raggedy Bits thread on Health? Come and have a chat there, 'tis very informative.

Scan not a bundle of laughs, admittedly Though not really awful, not very uncomfortable, just very embarassing. (I worked at the hospital it was done at, spun the hand-holder health care assistant type some massive rigmarole about being a student at the local university, only to bump into her 2 weeks later )

Follow up appt; make a list make a list make a list. And DON'T be fobbed off. Are you seeing a colorectal surgeon, if not ask for a referral, they are much better than ob/gyns and I wouldn't waste my time with a GP quite frankly.

Can you push for an earlier appt, as that does sound silly?
