Hi everyone,

I'm a first timer and the baby is due in 2 days time. But I'm getting really worried as nothing, not a thing, de nada is happening at all. I've had no braxton hicks contractions, nothing. Has anyone else experienced this? Does it mean anything? Am I going to be pregnant forever? Anyone had the same or should I be worried?

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

With DD I didn't get any BH til 6 days after due date. She was 2 weeks late. With this one I'm only 33wks but no BH yet despite some of my friends having them earlier than this. Just depends for each person I think.

Don't worry, you won't be pregnant forever Every hour is one closer to you meeting your baby!

two dds and never a braxton hicks, not a twinge. dd1 came out beautifully, dd2 a section but that was cos of a placenta thing and nothing to do with labour. i was disappointed as rather enjoyed first labour, turns out i was quite good at it.

I cursed myself by writing on this thread - I've been having them all day since...

debka · 07/06/2010 20:12

I never had a BH, and I'm still pg a year later....

Just kidding , I was induced though and eventually had DD 15 days late.

pantaloons · 07/06/2010 20:14

I've had 3 dcs and never ever had a BH. Although dd2 was induced so I don't suppose she counts!

Thanks everyone! That's a huge reassurance, I was thinking it was just me. Sorry to bring on the niggles Chulita

LOL debka

I'm 36 weeks today and still haven't had any.... With DS1 I had them from about 20 weeks - he was 15 days late and even then only arrived because I was induced and then had EMCS.

I'm hoping that the absence of them means this one will arrive on time. [fingers crossed]

I had no signs of imminent labour until contractions started at 40+2. No BH, no show, no mucous plug. Doesn't mean anything

BusyMissIzzy · 08/06/2010 20:24

Should also add that DD was born the same day!
