It might sound odd that I'm even stressing over this, but.......

What do you wear to give birth in?
Do they give you a gown?

The reason I ask is that I don't own any nighties and it seems silly to buy new ones just to get covered in blood and god knows what else!
Also on people's hospital bag lists they've put PJ's, but I would have thought you can't wear these even afterwards as docs/MW's will be needing to examine you.

I feel so dumb for asking this, but don't have anyone else I can ask

Sounds really weird but I wore a really really old long night shirt of my Dads!!! He'd lent it me on holiday years ago, but being a good old marks and sparks one it has lasted! He was really touched when I told him, and didn't even mind that it had gotten ripped during labour. He did point out he didn't want it back though lol!.
