Just after a bit of sympathy really. I went for walk on Hampstead Heath yesterday in an attempt to kick start labour and managed to fall really awkwardly and sprain my leg. Can't put any weight on it. Does this spell the end of my hopes for a water birth if I can't get in and out the pool? I had to fight tooth and nail to be accepted to the birth centre already because of previous caesarean.

speak to your midwife... if your mobility is affected and you cannot get safely in and out of the pool, then there will be some risk issues to consider.. have you been checked out anyway regarding your sprain?

Hi, no I haven't. I am kind of scared its a fracture. Did the same thing as a teenager and this feels worse. I know I should get down to A&E. Really worried about timing of this baby as want leg to heal but have calcified placenta so can't go overdue by much. Rats!

you have my sympathy, i sprained my ankle about 15 months ago, it was the worst pain i've ever had, i thought it was broken, but it was 'just' a bad sprain, the pain ws horrific.

i really think you should be checked, not least for reassurance and to find out exactly what to tell the MWs who'll be looking after you in labour
