GBS and Stretch and Sweep

I am 40 weeks (by my dates) or 39+2 according to MW dates and have tested GBS postive from a swab a few weeks ago. I was seen by a random MW at clinic last week (she was covering as ours was away)who told me that as GBS+ I would not be offered a S+S as the risk of membrane rupture and further infection was too high. Today I saw my MW who has offered me a S+S next friday (term +7 for my dates, 40+2 their dates) When I said I was GBS+ she said not a problem as this was DC2 and I had a fast labour last time so if membranes ruptured I would go straight in for Antibiotics and then go from there.

I am confused and tired due to a prolonged bout of pre-labour contractions that are striking most nights from 11pm-5am. Should I let her do the S&S or is it as unsafe as the other MW said?

I have GBS and the guidlines are to avoid artificials rupture of the membranes, so I personally would avoid. They also suggest limiting internal examinations as well to lower infection risk. hth xx and good luck!!!
