complications postnatally after pph?

Hi,

I had DD2 6 weeks ago and although labour was straightforward I suffered a major pph after delivering placenta. No reason given, maybe due to big placenta or quick delivery. Lost 3.5 litres of blood, was transfused 2 units, had balloon inserted and was packed to stem the bleeding. Iron level (??) was 7.1 and increased to 8.1 for leaving hospital.

Anyway, all ended up fine. Was on iron tablets for 4 weeks had bloods done and results came back "normal" so I assumed all was fine.

But in past week or so I have been having terrible cramps (exclusively breastfeeding and lochia stopped at 3 weeks and no bleeding since so I am assuming its not a period). In the past two days I have had terrible stabbing pains in either side of my back and one of my knees keeps buckling (random, I know).

I have my 6 week postnatal check back at the hospital on friday but was wondering if anyone else experienced any after effects of a pph or is this something unrelated??

TIA

I also had quite a major PPH and was transfused 2 units, but can't really help regarding the other signs, i did have quite bad afterpains when breastfeeding but i think these stopped around 5 weeks.

sorry i can't be more help, hopefully someone else more helpful will come along soon x
