VBAC before 18 months

I am pregnant again and yesterday I went for my booking in appointment with midwives.

Because the age difference is less than 18 months (17 months to be exact) and I had a c-section with my last pregnancy, I was asking them what the likelihood of me having a natural labour would be. They said they didn't know but it would be classed as a high risk pregnancy and it would be for the obstetrician and I to decide together (they were actually really pleasant and told me I would be involved in the decision).

I don't know why but I am petrified of having a c-section again. It is completely illogical I am sure and I would really love to have a natural birth - but apparently even then it will be continuously monitored. I am only 3 months pg and worried about it already.

Curious to know if there is anyone out there who has been in this position and has been able to have a natural birth and if it was okay. I need some words from the wisdom of mumsnet.

I had a natural birth 11 months after a c-section. I suppose each hospital is different. My birth was fine i had to have vontouse delivery as i had a biggish baby & was finding it hard to push as i also had a epidural. I have had 3 cuts & 3 normal births & i would opt for natural birth any day.

I would like to as well. Just to see what it is like.
