After-effects of stitches, or something else?

(Have namechanged, as didn't want to share this under my usual name!)
I had stitches for a 2nd-degree tear after DD was born recently, it was obviously quite sore for the first 2 weeks or so, but then got much better and no longer painful so I didn't have any concerns at the 6-week check.

However it's now been 12 weeks since the birth and I have noticed that there is still a small, red sticking-out lump on my perineum (not right at the edge though but slightly further back) - it feels almost like a little tag. It doesn't hurt, but feels a little sensitive perhaps, and if I wash with soap/shower gel it is sometimes a little sensitive to that.

Is this likely to be still from the stitches, or something else? If so, will it go away in time, and how long is that likely to take? And is it likely to be a problem or uncomfortable during sex, if/when I ever get enough sleep to contemplate that again? I have been putting it off a bit partly because of that, as well as the sore boobs, lack of sleep etc! Thank you...

It could well be just that its not all settled down down there. If it were me I'd get the doc to take another look. Just to set your mind at rest.

I suppose you're right... though I might see if I can get back in touch with the MW rather than doc, I guess she would probably have more idea what is normal after stitches and at least I am more comfortable getting my bits out for her as she's seen it all before!
