WOW How was it from the other side?

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 09/05/2010 20:04

Were you her planned birth partner, who was it all down to circumstances at the time?

How wonderful. I'd love to be someone's birth partner.

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 09/05/2010 20:04

or, not who.

bibbitybobbityhat · 09/05/2010 20:07

That's amazing! What an incredible privilege. I don't suppose I will ever witness a birth .

Did you cry?

(Is the baby's name really crysal?, boy or girl?)

What an honour I would be over the moon to be asked. Actually praying dd and me will be close enough. You two must be really special friends. I don't have a friend I would want to invite.

LittleWoodenCake · 09/05/2010 20:42

Wow! It's an amazing experience isn't it?

I was incredibly luck and honored to have been present at the births of two friends before I had my own DC. One amazing drug free home birth and one home birth transferred to hospital.

mehdismummy · 09/05/2010 20:42

i wouldnt say we were really close but have been thru lots together and she doesnt really trust many people, ah slushy i will be your special friend xxx

mehdismummy - how wonderful! I am going to be my sister's birth partner (along with her dp) in a couple of weeks (fingers crossed!) Do you have any tips for me?!

mehdismummy · 10/05/2010 16:05

well just make sure she has plenty of fluids and i kept mpooing her brow with a cold flannel which kept her cool, just encourage and enjoy it was an amazing experience, my sister was at ds birth and she was wonderful because i could swear at her and she was not offended because you know what its like with siblings you can wish eboli on them and they dont care!!!
