Please advise! Waters leaking? Not sure if I'm doing it right!

Am 39+4, been having various twinges and pains on and off for about two weeks. Yesterday I wondered if my waters were perhaps trickling v slowly (seemed to have slightly more "plain water" discharge iyswim) but decided not (lay on my side for half hour and nothing really).

Had quite a painful twinge (like bad period pain) this morning and knickers quite wet - definitely not weed meself though just like plain water. Got an appt with the MW this afternoon, so had a quick shower and have put a pad on, so if it continues she can do whatever it is they do to test the ph or whatever.

Should I do anything else? Other than cross my fingers...

Thanks in advance if anyone can advise me!

oooh how exciting! if you feel any more leaking then the best thing to do is smell it! if it doesn't smell of wee then it's prob your waters

SilkyBreeks · 06/05/2010 11:39

It's definitely not wee! I have lots of professional experience of wee (ex HCP)

I suppose this means...given the protocol in this area about waters going...I might have a baby soon? Oh jesus.

Ooh good luck.

My waters broke at 8.50 Sunday before last with no contractions and DD3 was born at 6.55am the next morning!

Ooh, how exciting! I think the advice is to keep a pad on so they can check there's no meconium in your waters. Hope it all goes well for you!

No meconium, but no more water and no contractions either! And a baby who is now suspected of being breech, grrrr. Will find out later...
