Yes and yes! It burst during delivery. I never mentioned it to the midwife just in case she said I can't have a normal delivery. I managed to go to hospital for the 2nd stage (pushing the baby out), she asked "what is that?". It took me 10 minutes to deliver and didn't feel it bursting, but the walls around got splashed with blood. I was certainly relieved!

Try not to irritate it, do not apply any pressure on it or it might become bigger and hurt a lot! Now I have it again and the midwife hasn't mentioned anything, although it is on my notes.

Ive had one and had an operation to get rid of it because it became an absess. Now 33 weeks pregnant I think Ive got another, so glad to hear it hasnt prevent a vaginal delivery (phew)

Hi Ladies,

If you have a bartholin's cyst it is important for you to mention this to your healthcare provider asap. Undetected or untreated cysts can lead to septicaemia (blood poisioning) plus there are sometimes very nasty bacteria living in the cyst which may harm your baby during a vaginal delivery. It's not worth taking the risk.

I know because I had mine removed during an emergeny operation. There is absolutely no way I would have attempted a vaginal birth whilst the cyst was there. Don't want to scare anyone, but I would mention it.
