What can I do to take my mind off it?

Babies will come when they are good and ready, no accounting for any plans you might have. I kept really busy, but with things that I could cancel last minute if anything were to happen, or I just wanted to go and have a lie down.

I went to a garden centre to have a look around on my EDD and loved the reaction I got from the salesman when asked when I was due only for him to hear 'Today!'

I also went for lots of very slow and not too far walks, and visited friends and family to have some company while DH was at work. Tidied and cleaned a lot in the last week too.

Finally 8 days overdue after my most busy day out to lunch, swimming, and bouncing on the bed in an attempt to speed things along my DD was born!

Good luck.

sleep, watch TV, swim, haircut, manicure, go shopping, cinema, dinner, cook meals for freezer, tidy out cupboards...

am a bit as worked until 39 weeks and DC3 born next day so did not have time to do any of those things....

weasle · 30/04/2010 19:06

hello, i am 38+5 with dc3 and ds2 was born at 38+5 so i am hoping for delivery soon. I too am waiting...

am planning a weekend of minor chores (gardening, doing a long overdue photo album) taking boys swimming, and seeing some friends that will be fine if we cancel at last minute.

Am desperate for baby to come before next week when my mum arrives to 'help' - and ask me if i'm in labour yet every 5 minutes!

have a pedicure? go swimming - (perhaps before the pedicure,) cook, buy snacks for labour, go for a walk...

good luck i hope he/she arrives soon!

madcatsazz · 02/05/2010 00:06

Hi - I'm 38+4 and DD1 was born at 38+5 so I too am hoping not much longer. Possible TMI in this next question but is anyone else suffering with wind? Last two days my trump flatulance has been dreadful - no mean feat when I have to keep leaving the room to do it quietly! hurry up baby.....

KatnKankles · 02/05/2010 01:13

Hi, I'm 38+4 too madcat and my stomach has eben going insane all night with cramps (and runs) and wind pains. Doubt there's anything happening though, I went 6 days over with the last 2.

I'm so desperate for baby to come, I'm fed up plus I went to see a friend with her newborn today which just made me WANT MINE NOW.

Sending us all labour vibes!!

madcatsazz · 02/05/2010 14:19

My stomach has been going crazy - so much so I thought maybe I ate something funny but so far...still nothing.

first DD was born at 38+5 so I'm praying it'll happen soon - who's gonna be first

madcatsazz · 04/05/2010 10:46

Hi all - any news? Have just realised I am in fact 40 weeks today, and was 39+5, not 38+5 when I last posted - and still no baby!! No pangs or anything. Just the erm....disgruntled stomach...!

weasle · 04/05/2010 15:20

nothing here either. 2 big swims, walk in woods, curry and sex. baby still not budging.

my mum now here and don't want to waste the help by hanging around waiting!

mazzystartled · 04/05/2010 15:51

Had a lovely weekend with DH and the kids, and just been lazing in a park all day with DD. 40 + 5 today - never been this pregnant before!

Thought I detected a bit of rumbling in the early hours this morning, but seems to have come to nothing.

Got appt with consultant at hospital tommorrow and they are bound to want to set a C/S date so really want it to happen NOW!!!!

any babies?

still waiting here, 39+5. would have quite liked labour last night so i could stay up and watch tv. instead i stayed up too late but still no baby.

had made no plans for this weekend at all, done garden centre today, will need another pedicure at this rate.

madcatsazz · 08/05/2010 20:49

no baby here - went for a bumpy drive today to see if we could encourage baby out - all it seems to have done is make baby move about more and make my hips and back ache! 40+4 today.

KatnKankles · 08/05/2010 22:59

Still here but I'm 'only' 39+3

Can't see anything happening for a while and the texts have started already!

weasle · 10/05/2010 19:21

i have cleaned out all kitchen cupboards, done gardening, walked up lots of hills, big swim, sex, still no sign of labour!

mazzystartled · 10/05/2010 20:41

job done!
