Am only 13+5 but the consultants appts start within the next few weeks and at my booking in appt the midwife just flew past the birthing discussions as I would be a section - straight off.

DD1 was 10lb4 delivered after induction on her due date, long laboud, moderate shoulder distocia (sp?) and high forceps

DD2 was 11 lb 1 and 5days overdue after spontanious but long labour I was fully dialted but she just would't come out and EMCS performed

DD3 was 9lb14oz even with GDD and was an elective a day after her due date

I'm not going to be daft about it but wondered if anyone had managed one?

I know some people on mn have, but I am not one.
Sorry, hopeful bump!

i know that there are definitely a couple of MNers who've had a VBA2C

daisymoosteiner has had a VBA2C

you need to clarify why DD2 was stuck.. whether it was an issue with her positioning or your pelvis..

i know we talked about this before, didn't we?

at the end of the day, if it is your informed decisoin to do so , you can go for a VB2C, based on your birth history, you might well find a fair amount of opposition

your best chance of a VBAC starts with a spontenaous labour. so if there is a suggestion of induction etc then you will need to ask lots of questions.

thanks captain

Hi Lulu I won't let them induce me again, I made that mistake with DD1 due to naivety and have told them each time since that unless there is some sort of medical reason regarding my health or that of the baby then it won't happen - I've fortunately got a very good consultant who I will be in the care of again this time.

DD2 just wouldn't come out at all - was 10cm and the consultant was in there one step short of miners helmet and flippers trying without success

I just wondered as I would have gone for VBAC with DD3 had it not been for the timing of mum passing away and seeing as DD3 was smaller than those before her I thought it might be worth considering?

oh and all of mine have been past their due date so consultant was happy to let me go into spontaneous labour and try with DD3 if I went before my due date - I was 2 days over when I had the elective section

I recommend this email group - a great bunch of supportive and wise women with all kinds of experience of VBAC including midwives and doulas. I wouldn't have gone through with my VBAC without their support.

thanks, having done it all ways possible so far I'd like to start considering my options before I go in for the discussions about it all
