2 week difference between due date and scan dates

Anyone else out there had the same problem?
According to my LMP dates (which are accurate) I am due on 4 may but my scan changed my due date to 17 may...a difference of 14 days. Doctors say I am 37 weeks but I feel 39 weeks. This is baby number 4. I hope that I'll have baby around 4 may ...cant wait till 17th.....

I haven't had this happen but personally I would go with their dates to avoid an early induction! You can always know yourself the baby's due on 4 May...

I had a 10 day difference - dates said earlier , VERy early scan (5 weeks) said 10 days later. Like plant said - go with the later one- if I hadn't I'd have been induced and missed my lovely calm homebirth!

I was the other way, scan put me 10 days ahead even though we were ttc and knew the dates of OV etc, still we went with their dates, would have been worse if they put me 10 days behind though!! I had a section at their 38 weeks but according to my dates was 36/37.

With my first baby scan said I was due 5th of the month; LMp said 25th of the month - baby duly arrived on the 2nd-the hospital put him as 37 weeks but her looked nearer full term to me.

2nd baby also arrived early according to LMP dates but bang on time according to scan-so in my case scans definitely accurate!

When was the scan? Up to about 8 weeks they can use stage of development to judge gestational age pretty accurately - beyond that they're reliant on "average" growth, and the further you get through the pregnancy the wider the range of "normal" around "average" will be leading to lower accuracy...

How do you know your LMP dates are accurate? Do you know when you ovulated?

If it were me I'd be grateful to be scared pressure to have an induction, but get very cautious to do things like kick charts if I went more than a week past the LMP date...

I know the LMP date was accurate because I marked itin my diary because I have very regular cycles and always feel a pain of ovulation around day 12-14 so usually know the day my period will start. The thing is having 3 kids already I think I have enough experience to know hoe I feel ....37 weeks or 39. I FEEL 39 ! but you begin to doubt yourself in these situations....

I cant understand that if the scan date (done at 12 weeks) is right how it can be physically possible that I conieved almost a day before period due. Mind you it just occurred to me that even though I didnt have a period & knew I was pregnant didnt get a positive pregnancy result until 2 weeks overdue soooooo should probably go for scan dates...
I dont know but Im worried about going past 3 may. Its annoying not kmowing when it will happen let alone having such a wide dating gap......
