TMI!! Post Partum bleeding worry

I had DS2 10 days ago and have now been discharged from the midwife as all was well. However, today my blood loss began to become heavier and a bit mucusy. I wasn't too worried as DH has gone back to work and i put it down to doing too much with DS1. Tonight whilst I was serving dinner i felt something a bit weird down below. I went to the toinlet and passed a large blood clot. It was very jelly like and would have fit into the palm of my cupped hand. I was worried and called the out of hours doctor. They said as there was no odour, pain or fever it was probably nothing to worry about. But i can't help worrying. I don't have any new pain but i am still slightly uncomfortable from birth. Do you think this could be anything to worry about? Don't want to bother the doc if one has already told me not to worry and to monitor the loss etc. Am i over reacting?

You're not over-reacting but try not to worry to much. I had similar clots after the birth of DD but was told it was ok if the clots were smaller than my fist! You will still be a bit uncomfortable anyway, try to rest where possible- yeah I do know!

I'm just coming up to 10 days post partum and my midwife was telling me yesterday that around about now is where the scab from where the placenta was attached might start to pass and that it would take the form of thicker, clot-like blood, so, I bet that's what you're seeing. (sorry, it's all a bit gross, isn't it!)
