Pros and cons of induction?

Title says it all really. I'm 38+4 and struggling with medical issue. I know a failed induction results in c-section but I don't know much else. My baby is dropping but other than that there is no sign that he wants to make an appearance.

I have been induced with both babeies, first baby was lazy and was overdue, second i had gestational diabetes so was induced earlier.

Both were fine staright forward etc.

Pro's- if you already have children you can arrange babysitters etc, get more things organised before you go to the hosptial. constantly monitored.

Con's- could be along wait (but not all the time) none of the excitment of going into labour yourself, to be honest in my exsperience thats the only con's i have.

It really isnt bad at all, they will do all they can before attemoting a c-section they use that as last resort.

Medical issue being yours or the baby's?

I've got the medical issues, baby is thankfully very happy and appears very comfortable where he is (glad one of us is!).

Was emphatically reassured at the start of my pregnancy that if it all became too much then we could discuss options. Now I've reached the end of my tether its quite difficult to speak to someone who will give me some options. It seems that if the baby is alright the mother has to put up with it. I've been told to take more painkillers so now I'm looking forward to an afternoon of being a complete space cadet and not being able to 'go' for the rest of the week.

Would much rather the baby decided to turn up slightly early with no intervention than to go down the induction route. But the baby could be a stubborn so and so (especially coming from our family).
