I know that this sounds silly but I am going in for an induction tomorrow and am wondering what to take besides my usual hospital bag. Should i bring snacks and drinks etc?

This is DC2 and as i had a quick labour with DS i am hoping for the same but have heard horror stories about inductions taking days!!!!

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

I'd take snacks, drinks & ear plugs!

If you are being induced post term it should hopefully go okay.

Food x 100, imagine you are going on a flight that doesn't serve dinner until 24 hours after you've set off, an M&S picnic type thing would be perfect. and an ipod and book.
My induction with DD2 took 2 hours from start to finish. But I was hanging around from 8am until 5pm before anything at all happened.

A load of crappy magazines- I laboured for a long time after induction and needed things that were short and inane to read between contractions. Something for your birth partner to read too.
Some frozen drinks- they defrost so you still have something cold to drink.
Comfy shoes! They made me walk around the hospital for hours on the first day.

Good luck- it's not as bad as people say!

Prepare for a c-section and take everything you want for a three day stay.C-sections are more likely with inductions and I ended up with one so although you may well not it is good to be prepared.Take big pants that would be comfy and loose over a scar, nursing bras, nightdresses, lots of snacks, stuff to read, and all the usual baby bits (nappies, clothes).hopefully you won't need much of it,best of luck with the birth.

Take a book, food, music, and your normal bag - all will be fine

good luck xx
