Have any other mums cut the umbilical cord?

Just wondering really.
I'm due in 2 weeks with DC3. My DP doesn't want to cut the cord and hasn't for our other 2 DC's either.
My midwife today suggested that I might like to cut it which i thought was a lovely idea, so I agreed. I haven't heard of any family or friends doing this though.

I did with DD3 (DC4). It felt great actually.

DH and I did it together, but not until a good half hour after dd was born. It was very peaceful, unhurried experience.
