I just had a lump of ivory-creamy discharge.it was big as a scallop(wow cant think of a beter metafore at the time) but no sign of blood or anything.could it be just vaginal discharge?

Yep, sounds like a show.

I had one but it was a small amount in the morning and kept losing it gradually while I was in labour. Mine was blood tinged though, but the size of yours does sound like a plug.

I went into labour about 4PM after waking up to a show in the morning, if that was your next question!

winnybella · 05/04/2010 10:50

Yup, sounds like this is it.

It is possible it wasn't all of it, so it could be you're a few days away from labour, but I wouldn't bet on it.

winnybella · 05/04/2010 10:51

Oh, and I had a show in the afternoon when I was already in early labour and gave birth the same evening

panayiota · 05/04/2010 11:31

Thank you for being so fast but the lack of blood in it could mean its just discharge? should I expect contractions or any other sign to follow?
and most importantly
WHAT DO I DO NOW?aaaaaaaaaaaaa

what do you do now?

nothing

you can have a show over a number of days

CX may or may not follow - if they do then you need to call your MW when they are 5 mins apart

it is a sign things may be on the move

sazlocks · 05/04/2010 11:34

I had this but it looked more like blood tinged snot (nice !). My waters broke a couple of hours later.
I have read that a show can happen up to a couple of weeks before anything else happens.
What do you do now ? - pack your bag if you haven't done already and wait and see what happens next !
good luck

panayiota · 05/04/2010 11:41

oh trust me my bag is packed for many weeks now-we ve also been expecting her even with preterm labor,I ve read anything that can been read over these months but now it seems I am to shocked to understand anything!is it really time to start?
Ill just wait and see I guess I dont want to upset anyone around me with no reason.

so good to be able to talk here and have these responses thanks

I don't remember seeing mine for all 3 pregnancies. Must have fallen down the loo or something!!

NomDePlume · 05/04/2010 11:49

OP - I knew becauee it looked like someone had done a big sneeze in my gusset. That was about 24 hrs before I went into labour.

pimskie · 06/04/2010 12:36

Mine looked exactly like that. No blood at all. I had mine on a Wednesday morning (also at 37 weeks), waters went on Sunday morning and contractions started Sunday afternoon.
Only thing to do is wait and see , as a show can occur even weeks before labour. Hope things are moving for you though!
