Where the hell is my period?

I am now 11 weeks post delivery and still no sign!! How long should it be before it comes?

I didn't have a period for months!

If you are breastfeeding, you may not have one until you completely stop feeding.

Are you bf?

I bf ds1 for 7 months and had my frist period at 9 months.

I bf ds2 for for 12 months and had my forst period at 9 months again!

No not breastfeeding, but strangely am still leaking milk from boobs

Perhaps your body just hasn't settled down yet or you're already pregnant

I'm still leaking milk nearly a year after stopping bf!

Everyone's different and unless there is a change that you could be pregnant again, I wouldn't worry.

Was wondering this myself! DD only 6 weeks old, but thought I might have seen the old witch by now? Not that I want them to return, but I sort of do, just to know it's all working normally again and so can re-start the pill, not quite ready for a brother or sister for her just yet!

you don't have to wait to have a period before you start taking the pill again, remember you ovulate before the old witch comes along.......

I don't breastfeed and my GP told me to start the pill 4 weeks after the birth.

You may want to check with your GP regarding with pill you can take as I think they advise the mini pill to start with.

That is interesting didnt realise i could start the pill without having a period, its been sat in my cupboard for 4 weeks now!!

No not pregnant, dear me couldnt cope with 3 under 5!

If not breastfeeding can take the normal pill don't have to wait for period but not effective as contraceptive for first week.

If you are still leaking milk then you still have high levels of bf hormone which is probably why no period.

I was bf and started the pill when baby 6 weeks. No period, just started taking it the day it was prescribed

I had the mirena coil fitted 3 weeks after birth, promised dh that we wouldn't have a 5th dc!

I think I remember from previous threads we were due the same day?? What did you have I went 12 days over and was induced ds is nearly 11 weeks, totally BF and AF arrived when he was 8 weeks with dd she was 11 weeks just not fair!!

Hi carrie i had a girl she is nearly 11 weeks, she was born by section at 39 weeks.

Birth hurt like bugger, ds was OP like his sister and ow ow ow!!

Mine came at 8 weeks, totally BF every 3-4 hours day and night!!

I didnt have my period for around 18 months after DS was born (happy days!), I did breast feed DS for 2 years though and guess that helped keep it at bay!
