Starving in the days before labour?

Just wondering if anyone out there has been extra hungry in the run up to labour - for the last 2 days I have been ravenous. Probably reading too much into it but hoping it might be a sign

Maybe you're building up the energy necessary for labour.

I had no appetite beforehand but was constantly hungry all the time I was breastfeeding.

I did. I remember the afternoon as labour started, (day before dd was born) and maybe something subconscious kicked in, and I was eating like a complete pig, kind of as if I knew I was going to need the strength!

Good luck with it all!

When I was in early labour with DD2 I ate an entire pizza, several jaffa cakes and a tin of coke. This was in addition to proper meals. Needless to say by the time I was pushing several hours later I had bags of energy!
Hope it kicks off for you soon.

Yep, I polished off a whole pizza in Pizza Hut, most unlike me, I usually eat one slice, graze on another and have to have the rest in a box to take home....then got home, had a Hollands meat Pie, bottle of lucozade and 2 creme eggs - went into labour that night.
Can fully recommend eating shite - gives you sugary energy to get you through the early bit.
Once I got to hosp, had 2 bananas and an apple and lots of water, think that helped too.

Was ravenous after birth though, that tea and toast was the best thing EVER.
