How far along are you? Did they say how ready you were? I know it's painful {{hugs}} I cried during mine but with DS2 it worked

Sweep did nothing for me but my cervix was really high and very closed when MW did it so i was not expecting much. I have heard that the more progressed you are the more likely it will work so if you already 2 cm maybe it will.

Mine hurt like hell as well! All part of the glamourous adventure of pregnancy and birth!

Good luck!

i had a sweep at 39 weeks (thursday) due to gestational diabetes and they were inducing me at 39+5 dd arrived at 39+3..a few hours after my sweep i started having very very very small contractions..more like period pains that came and went!

that night my plug went next day contractions every 10 mins all day, saturday contractions in morning every 10 mins nothing all evening...sunday morning 5:45am contractions every 2-3 minutes, arrived at hospital 8:30am...was 4cm! she arrived at 2:16pm

so yeah my sweep worked!!

Mine worked at 40+3, I was 2cm dilated anyway and head well down. Have to say it didn't hurt much, but that's probably really variable. Contractions kicked off within half an hour or so and dd born later that night. Good luck

Had one on the Monday, reeeaally hurt, no dilation, nothing.
Had another one on the Thursday afternoon, was 2cm, didn't hurt at all, things must have been, ahem, opening up....contractions started that evening, on and off for 2 days, she arrived Saturday 6pm.
Best of luck.

I have been having a lot of irregular painful contractions. They are just not getting anywhere. Really wish something definite would start. I want to be home in time for dr Who tomorrow.
