I am looking at hiring a Birth Pool in a Box and have found only one supplier so far - would love to find more to compare prices and read reviews etc. However every company I've found by googling seems to hire out the rigid type of pool rather than the inflatable - or am I just not looking hard enough? Any recommendations would be great, thanks. Otherwise may buy one!

If you can afford to, I would really recommend buying one. I used my inflatable La Bassine pool a lot in the third trimester with my second child and I plan to do the same again in this pregnancy.

Lovely to have a float around and take the weight of the bump off and watch rubbish TV on a Saturday night.

tbh i found it was not much more to buy one than to hire, and then you've got it forever rather than just a few weeks. they sell well on ebay too!
i ended up being super stingy and buying mine second hand (from someone on here i think actually), and after my second homebirth I sold it on ebay for £62

i had a la bassine which was LOVELY. would highly recommend them

Ask your mw or your local home birth group (if you have one) if you can hire one from them. It will be free (or just the cost of a liner). You may need to buy a sieve too!

Thanks - looks like I'll be making an investment purchase then! MW reckoned buying was the best bet too. There is a local home birth group, will ask there.

I like the look of the la Bassine but it's more circular, isn't it? I think the shape of the BPIAB will fit better in my living room - will get the dimensions of both and try and work out which is better.

Really excited as they look much comfier than the hospital birth pool I used first time around.

La Bassine is oval and has a lovely padded floor which makes it very nice to kneel on.
Look here

Thanks babieseverywhere - I think you've convinced me! That's a pretty affordable package.
