Anxious, overdue and need help

hi all. i suffered from an anxiety problem throughout my pregnancy, which is aparently relatively common in pregnancy in young mums, mine has been worse due to high blood pressure as that also aparantly makes you anxious.
Im now 4days over due and im really fed up with it. I have a date to be induced but thats not for another 9days, i know it dosent sound alot but when youve had constant worrys for 9months it seems like forever.
Im at the end of my teather with it now im really fed up, i wouldnt mind the wait if i didnt have anxiety.
Im so eager to have my baby now as everyone who is overdue is but also because once shes hear my blood pressure as well as my hormones will level out which means no anxiety.
Does anyone know if its possible to get induced earlier if requested?

Hi Tiggz - I'm afraid I don't know the answer to your query - maybe ask your midwife? But I would say that the extra 9 days might allow you to go into labour naturally. Is this your first baby? Its not unusual to go over your due date, I went about 12 days over mine and was booked in for an induction about a day later - I ended up being induced anyway as my waters broke and I didn't go into labour. Whilst all worked out fine (I have lovely 3 yr old DD now) I would say that being induced was pretty uncomfortable at times, I ended up with a drip and lots of monitors, so if labour starts spontanously you are more able to move around etc, which I would have liked. All the best though - not far to go now!

hugs, being overdue is awful (im on day 10), plus add anxiety in the mix and it doesnt help at all! I think you should speak to your midwife, maybe she can help you reduce your anxiety. I have been very anxious towards the end of this pregnancy, am very scared of the birth which sounds mad as this is my second so according to everyone i should know what i am doing...! i went to the midwife on sunday for a sweep, and burst into tears when she asked how i was. She was lovely and reassuring, and although i am still very anxious about having this baby, i do feel a bit better about it, and know that it wont be for too much longer.

You'll be absolutely brilliant, i have never been induced but have heard its better to go naturally if possible. Have you listened to some calming music, or watched some chill-out telly? A nice bath with candles. Hope you have baby very soon.

All three babies two weeks overdue here. Two induced labours. I didn't have anxiety however.
Induced labours are not that bad. You have a date to go in and you know you will come out with a baby. I was able to book childcare for DD1 when I went in to have DD2 and to tell my mother to book her train ticket down to visit. To some extent it took the worry out of it.
With each baby I went into a 'zone' toward the end of pregnancy and mentally handed myself over to those with the expertise- the midwives. I found the burden of fear lessened by handing it over to someone else.
Don't know if you can be induced early but you could try all of the recommended ways of bringing labour on

Thanku all for being so kind, its so nice to be able to speak to others.
Yes this is my first baby, i think shes just to comfy to move right now, she needs a shuv!
I suppose everyone has a different story to tell about being induced i suppose it depends on the woman and the baby. Its encouraging to hear a good story though .
I know that its best to have a natural birth, i just think every woman gets to that stage of "i just dont care anymore, i just want the baby here" lol.
Me and my partner have tried just about every method possible...
curry
fresh pinapple juice
walking
climbing stairs
sex
3x attempted sweepsnot the most comfortble thing to experience 3x!
baths
but still no baby...how frustrating.
Anyone got any other methods i could try that worked for you? and anyone experience that nothing worked for them either?

I didn't need this but our vet swore by a bumpy car ride, if there are any speed bumps nearby it might be worth a go.

Sorry to hear about the anxiety, and the feeling that every day lasts forever is familiar. Hope you go soon- and I heard another good trouble-free induction story from a friend yesterday, so take heart and good luck.

Thanku, id never heard that one before i might try it
i really cant wait for my anxiety to dissapear, fingers crossed it will shortly if she hurrys up and arrives shortly!
