Is this a show?

Am wondering if anyone is up, do you know whether a show is mucousy, or can it be more runny bloody?

Have had some faint blood in a pad (no more than about 1/2 teaspoon I'd say) in my knickers along with some discharge (sorry if tmi!). It came after a particularly strong feeling contraction which felt more ouchy than the ones I've been having all night every 20 mins or so.

Am just wondering if this is it, and don't want to ignore waters/blood in water, but there's been no major gush so I'm guessing they're still intact.

Anyone have a show like this, is it just the beginning of the show, or is there always jelly like mucous with it?

Thanks!

Gosh I dunno Decaff, but it sounds like it might be.

Mine sort of went 'plop' in an unmistakable way.

Can you ring the hosp/midwife?

Oh cripes, I noticed that your post was an hour ago, any progress?? Have you had the baby now???

Good luck!

Hi Claudia,

Phoned the hospital who said it was probably the beginnings of the show, and have since had some mucous, so it seems that's what it is. Hoorray!

Still at home, contractions every half hour or so, it's a slow burner this one, i think. Am going to stay here for as long as possible!

My money's on the baby arriving on Mother's day. Think that'd be very fitting!

Is it your first decaff? So exciting!

No, my second, but I'm Vbac'ing so do'nt know what to expect with labour. The mucousy plug came today, and over the last 36 hours ive been having contractions every 15 mins (with a few hours of every 30 mins, and some of every 10 mins). EXHAUSTING!

Been up to the hopspital, and no dilation yet, although the cervix is thinning apparently. More than anything I'm stupidly tired, and the contractions aren't pain-free at all, so it's all a bit much, but I'm trying to remain positive and see it all as part of the process of bringing me closer to the baby. It's hard though.

Have managed to get some sleep today, so we'll see what happens overnight tonight (I'm hoping to be able to get some sleep to be honest!).
