Pretty sure I was allowed to keep mine on, and my glasses!

Metal things need to come off, because they sometimes use this thingamybob involving electricity to cut and cauterise. They let me keep my wedding ring though... so maybe they would just tape over your ring.

They did take my glasses, claiming that otherwise I might get a burned face (I was quite drugged so that might not be quite right), so my DD1's birth is -literally - a blur.

I had to remove all my jewellery before. It slightly panicked me as I started to wonder if it had something to do with interfering with resuscitation paddles (neurotic, pre-section emoticon)

I had to remove all jewellery except my wedding ring (which they taped up).

Missmamy · 12/03/2010 22:18

Ok, thanks, hopefully they will let me put tape over it.

Yes they had me remove all my jewellry and clean off my toe nail varnish .

I had an emergency but was only wearing a wedding ring, I don't think they taped it up.

I had an emergency and I had to take my earings but due to swelling they taped my wedding and engagement ring. They also taped my glasses in order for me to be able to keep them on and see!
