Surely this is more than Braxton Hicks???

A quick query really. At 32 weeks I was in hospital having contractions every 5 min for 24 hours then it stopped. A few days later i had the same but only for 4 hours. Then at 34 weeks i had them for over 30 hours, again back in hospital and ten they stopped.

Now I;m having what i would class as braxton hicks - irregular tightenings, every now and again.

I have not dilated and Drs and midwifes sayign its braxton hicks, 4th baby etc.

DS came a month early and i hardly felt any of his contractions before they realised i was dilating and had an EMCS.

Am booked in for another section ..... do you think this is all braxton hicks? Everything i've ad online says they are irregular tightenings. Every 5 mins for over 30 hours is not what i would consider to be braxton hicks.

Any thoughts??

I am preg with no.4 too and have always gone into labour myself so am quite familiar with contractions and how they feel.

I spent most of yesterday having regular contractions and worrying about giving birth at 35 weeks - seems the baby has dropped (DS3 did this at this stage too) and this is what all the pain was about.

I have 14m between the first 2 and there will be 16m between DS3 and this one.

The only explanation I can find/was given by maternity unit was 'irritable womb'.
The contractions I had followed a brisk walk uphill pushing a pushchair.

It would seem my knackered old womb gets a bit carried away at any oppertunity.
I had contractions for hours at a time stopping and starting for the last 2 weeks with DS3 - very annoying! But - when I went for a sweep on my due date I was already 3-4cms dilated.

Hopeflly some of that waffle might help...?

reading it back I severely doubt it!

Thank you - yes i got told "irritable womb" also - you're not flippin wrong! It's doing my head in!!!!!

The worst times (30 hours plus) they started at 5am and 6am so not as if i'd been doing anything but sleeping (or trying too anyway).

Ah well - baby will come when it's ready - just causing trouble before it even gets here
