What's normal pain 2 weeks after Csection?i

I had a csection 11 days ago and whilst the scar is healing nicely and is pain free, I'm experiencing quite strong muscle type pain about 1 inch above the scar ( mainly on left side). Is this normal? It's tender to touch and feels as though someone is jabbing a bruise. Any advice/reassurance would be most welcome.

That sounds fairly normal. You are less than 2 weeks after major surgery. I was still on a full set of pain-killers 2 weeks after both mine. I still had some pain (though not enough to need pain killers) above the scar after about 4 months with ds1. The GP told me this was normal.

That said, if you are concerned, talk to your GP or midwife.

I didn't feel any pain. I think you should definitely get it checked out.

The fact you describe it as a bruise is reassuring as you probably have a little internal bruising and swelling.

I think that sounds pretty normal.I was not in pain after about four days, but it still feels a little tender, thirteen months later. However, it may just be worth having your midwife or GP having a quick look at the scar, which they are normally more than happy to do.

Can I hijack to ask if it's normal to feel intense burning pain up your side and front of stomach like abdominal muscles are on fire 4 days after a section?? not reallt any pain near wound though....

Hi I have had 3 c sections and had quite abit of pain after them all. The pain went on for 3-4 weeks with each with some dull aches for up to a year. I don't remember burning pain, more a pulling/discomfort when moving but I took very strong painkillers for first 5-6 days. Worth checking with M/W to be sure if worried.

I think pulling might also be the description I would use, it's agony. Midwife says the voltarol and paracetomol should be enough, but I don't think so. time to call the Drs. Thanks everyone xx

Yep def give them a call. I had a large hemotoma after my 2nd one. It was a grapefruit size blood clot, my stomach was black (I'd had a major hemorrhage though). I think that hurt quite abit when pressed but it was some years ago. They didn't do much but just kept an eye on it and it went away. Hope all is OK and you recover soon.
