Anyone have no braxton hicks, but straightforward labour?

I'm 38 weeks but still haven't felt any Braxton Hicks... I'm just wondering whether, if my uterus isn't "practising" I'll have a tougher time on the day. Did anyone else have no Braxton Hicks and still have a straight forward labour?

I felt no BHs at all with my first. He was born at about 39+3, long labour, but perfectly straightforward.

With no2 I was almost overwhelmed by BHs from fairly early on. She was born at 41w, long labour, but perfectly straightforward.

Go figure.

A good help towards having a straightforward labour is to relax, keep mobile, keep upright.

I didn't have any BH with first PG - then cos of high BP had to be induced when a few days overdue (so not exactly straightforward) however once things got going had fast labour. Also in neither of my PGs did the head engage and that didn't seen to affect labour either. in fact DD born at home as didn't have time to get to hospital. Did have a few BHs with her I think?

HTH and good luck!

None at all with DS1, the first twinge I felt was labour.

This time around have almost called the hospital 5 times this week! It keeps starting up and then stopping.

I have had three and not a single one and my labours all fine.

2 babies, no braxtons, 1st was 2 days late, 2nd came on due date - fairly short easy labours - gas and Air made me sick so no pain relief.

Thank you all. Very reassuring!!

I had very few BHs. (Less than ten, I'd say, through the whole of pregnancy). Had a simple short labour - ds appeared 8.5 hours after first contraction at 40+6. Good luck!

Had none with either & they were both short, easy labours with no tears or stitches.

I never had any Braxton Hicks with either of my pregnancies,

but then I also had to be induced with both as my rubbish body doesn't seem to know how to do it properly,
both times my waters broke and then I didn't go into labour

I had no BH - in fact when I went into labour I actually thought they were BH to start with.

My labour was very smooth and straightforward...

Bet I'm not so lucky this time

Best of luck!
