Stomach after giving birth

I gave birth to my 2nd dd 3 weeks ago. Easy, quick labour with no complications.

But, this time my stomach is still swollen and hard. With dd1 it was just very saggy skin I was left with.

Mw said my uterus had shrunk back quickly.

Any ideas or is this normal?

hi

you may have stretched your stomach muscles and it could be sometime before it all goes back to normal.

Only had 1 baby but my stomach was like that and I was very worried.

Its not ideal as it makes you look pregnant for a long time after.

In a few weeks (8 weeks post natal or so) you should get yourself checked for seperation of stomach muscles by GP.

I hope you get sorted quickly.

Thanks, just googled seperated stomach muscles and I think I may have it. I have a buldge under my breast bone but not lower then my belly button.

Great! Thanks for the reply I wouldnt have thought about that other wise. I will get my GP to check when I have my check up.

Hi. I gave birth to ds 4 days ago - 2nd baby, and my tummy is also totally different than first time. With dd it was very soft and wrinkly, like an empty sac. This time it still looks like a pregnant bump - very hard. I thought it was because this delivery was via c-section and they left lots of air in, but maybe there's something different about second births?
