Mama TENS - can I detach and reattach pads?

Having just bought Mama TENS machine I was surprised to find out that the pads that come with the machine are 'single use only'. Does anyone know if this means that I can't detach and reattach the pads in the course of labour (if I, for example, want to hop in the bath or have a shower and then continue using the machine afterwards)? Replacement pads are very expensive so don't want to buy them unless I have to.

I think that means you aren't supposed to pass them on to somebody else!

I reattached mine loads, as I practised using them before the birth and I was really fussy during labour: "GIMME THE TENS!!!" then "TAKE IT OFF!!!" etc

I also used it a few days after the birth when I was in post-birth ouchiness.

Admittedly mine was a Boots hired TENS but I wouldn't worry

I reused my pads for all 3 babies - same set!!! They would still be usable now, but I'm done with having more.

MathsMadMummy is right, it really means single patient use.

normally tens electrodes can be reapplied 20-30 times if looked after. make sure you put them back on the backing strip when not in use and that your skin is clean & dry when putting them back on.

apparently if they do dry out over time, you can sometimes get them tacky again with a fine water spray and waiting 10 minutes.
