So excited - 39+1, was late last time and didn't have either a show or waters breaking naturally. So how long did it take?

Have your waters broken?

With all 3 of mine my waters broke either minutes before or AS they were born.

Show at 9pm, waters went 3am, DD2 born 7.45am.

Fingers crossed for you.

ooh...not sure if this is purely psychological but am getting infrequent but significant pains in back/lower tummy already... Hope this is the start of something if only to save me from having to spend 2 more mornings (at least) this week at the hospital for monitoring.

Good luck hedgehog. Am hoping my labour is quicker than last time or that I am allowed an epidural as quickly as possible!!

MumNWLondon · 23/02/2010 13:54

first - show sat morning, went into labour sat night, water went in hospital sunday morning, born lunchtime.

second - show 9pm at night at home, waters at 11pm in hospital, born midnight.

my friend had show at 39 weeks and was induced at 42 weeks

nigglewiggle · 23/02/2010 14:59

Any developments pecan?

pecanpie · 23/02/2010 21:12

Show 8.30pm
Contractions by 9.30pm
Hospital at 10/10.30pm
Confirmed in active labour at 11pm (and demanded pain relief!)
Epidural too late to take effect, topped up before I chose to share that I had the urge to push.
17 mins of determined pushing and little girl born at 4.07am!
Despite labour not being a pleasant experience, went pretty well overall - no baby distress, so baby delivered right onto the bed where DH and I could see her, have a cuddle etc. Would (almost)consider having another one already!!

Within 24 hours of the show both times I went into labour.

Had to have them ripped open with instrument at like 8cms dilated
