Discharge/show? (sorry gross!)

Hate to go into graphic detail here but what if you don't usually have discharge but then suddenly get some very stringy white goo, just like I remember a show being, but without any blood, could this still be a 'show'?

Nope, sounds more like discharge to me. Unless it smells or itches don't worry about it. The show is more like snot with stringy bits of blood in it, but it is meaningless in terms of labour starting tbh if that's what you were worrying about as long as you don't have contractions or your membranes have ruptured. Some women lose it weeks before, some don't notice it at all.
