Hi ladies,

Sorry if this is too much information but my friend and I have had a disagreement about sex and bringing on labour. Can anyone help clear up things (even if it is an old-wives tale?)

Is it the semen that causes labour, or is the orgasm?

I think that the semen contains prostaglandin which is what they use to soften your cervix and the orgasm gives off oxytocin which is what they use in the drip to start contractions, so both can help in theory.
