Hello,

Has anyone been a patient and what was your experience?

I am 30 weeks pregnant with no.2 and was just offered this consultant at the private wing of st mary's. did you get any info on him? i am not comfortable with his educational background - took him 15yrs after graduating from University of Colombo (sri lanka) to get a MD from a UK university.

Hi,
I have seen Mr Fernando for post natal uro gynae investigations and found him to be very pleasant and sympathetic. I can't comment on him antenatally though. I was referred to him by my urogynae surgeon Mr Vik Khullar for some very specific tests to be done. Mr Khullar is FANBLOODYTASTIC and I am sure that he would not have asked Mr Fernando to see me unless he felt absolutely confident in his abilities. I would have thought that the MD which he obtained from Keele University was a PhD equivalent given for research? If you look at his profile on drfosterhealth.co.uk you can see that he was awarded the Harold Malkin Prize in 2006 by the Royal College of Obs and Gynaes for the best original research. This would most likely have been his MD research (he got his MD in 2005). He won't be a consultant at St Mary's if he's rubbish.

Mr Khullar is great though and does do ELCS. Other women on this thread have had Mr Khullar for the birth and have said he was brilliant. He is also at St Mary's. Could you go to him?
