When will they perform an elective section?

I know the answer is 39 weeks which for me is Friday 19th March. When are they likely to do it? The following week, e.g. 22, 23 March or the week before?

why wouldn'/t they do it on the 19th?

I am 39 weeks today and am having mine on Monday.

Following week. I was offered two dates after I was 39 weeks. I went for the day I was 39+3. I think the other date offered was 39+5, which was too close for comfort for me!
