I'm 37 weeks on Sunday so could be anytime from then. I'm really looking forward to it (fingers crossed!) I've bought everything I think I'll need and the house has been blitzed Any last minute tips or things you found useful?

No tips but lots of good wishes, and just a teenytiny bit of

Also make sure your dp or birth partner knows how to post on MN for the live birth thread

So is everything finished? Very impressed!

CharChar no last minute tips - just wanted to say good luck . All you need is some plastic shheeting and some sheets to put over the top. Other than that it is a case of going with the flow. My homebirth was FANTASTIC! Hope yours will be too.

Thanks Jack Am quite excited because the midwife was brilliant - had 3 hbs herself so she was really positive. Hope she's on call when I go into labour!

Will instruct DP re birth thread

When I say everything, it means more I've forgotten the rest or it's DP's job Bit of sewing to do but I keep putting it off as the dining room is cold in the evening

Hope you're doing ok

Thanks sundew I have lots of plastic sheets and towels and things so floor should be ok. The baby's bouncing on my cervix constantly so hopefully priming everything nicely DD was 5 days overdue though so I've probably got ages to wait now.

DONT start keeping biscuits in the house for the midwives.

esp if you have no will power and a history of going overdue.

kept biccies in from 37 wks, ds born 42 wks. i reckon my HB cost me an extra 6lb of post baby weight.

(oh and very good luck. my HB was poss the greatest night of my life. second only to getting married and night dh told me he loved me! which were different nights, obvs.... ramble ramble. GOOD LUCK )

Good wishes from me too! Am 38 weeks and also booked in for a homebirth.

Great tip, swottybetty - if we had biscuits in already, I would be eating them right now...

CharCharGabor · 03/02/2010 22:48

Uh-oh > Better put biscuits back on the list then! I definitely lost my willpower somewhere.

Thanks for good wishes, and take some back OldestCat I hope yours goes well.
