Birth plan for c-section?

I have a few wishes for my c-section next week, such as who should hold the baby first and wanting to have skin to skin contact straight away. I've been told to write a birth plan to show the midwife on the day. What else could/should I include in my plan? Suggestions much appreciated - thanks.

You can ask the midwife to tell you who will be in the operating theatre. There will quite a lot of people, all going about their work but to you, it could look like really busy and you may be worrying about what's going on. You would obviously need to ask her this before your section, not when you're lying there!
You could write on your plan whether you would like to hold the baby whilst you're being stitched up and whether you would like the baby to do the 'breast crawl'. This is still possible with a section - even if it's done a while later.
Also, whether you want them to lift the baby to show you as they deliver him/her or not.
A midwife should be stood/sat next to your head, explaining everything that's happening (assuming you're not having a general that is!)
Will post again if I think of anything else.

I didn't have a plan for my elective section but the anathetist sat by my head an told me what was going on and asked me what I wanted to happen at certain points - other than that I thought I'd just let them get on with it.

If you and your partner are both going to be in theatre you might want to plan beforehand what happens if the baby needs to be taken out to a respirator. Should your partner stay with you or go with your baby.
