I had a planned c-section last wednesday and am still in considerable pain. They did do some extra surgery as my fallopian tube was adhered to my womb and bladder from my previous section so they had to remove it from my bladder, however i am still in a lot of pain one week on.

I am on the max of pain killers i can be but it is still hurting a lot when i wee and also have really bad pain behind my belly button. I cant remember it being this painful after my last section and that was an emergency one.

well, if you are concerned, why not get checked out? there can be (let's say) a bleeding inside from the surgery that causes you to be in so much pain, or some other reason (or even a bladder infection! plus, you say this CS was more complicated). I have no idea, and neither can any one else- because we haven't checked you physically . So if you think there's something wrong- go see a doctor.

Hurts while you wee- could be from the catheter, and could take a while till it clears. however after inserting a catheter the risks of uterine infection increase- so in conjunction with what you've said about the abdominal pain- just go and get checked out. in the meantime- drink loads of fluids and pee as much as you can. even though it hurts....

are you walking at all? the best way to recover from abdominal surgery is to walk as much as you can endure. I've had loads of patients back in my nursing days who've had surgery, and that is the best cure.

does the midwife not come round and see you? i was really sore for about 5-6 weeks and couldn't stand up straight for about 4 weeks, although my scar got infected and started opening back up. what painkillers are you on?

Go and see a doctor if your in any doubt.

oh and congrats on your new arrival!

I was in really a lot of pain for about 2 weeks and then it started to ease. But then I got an infection in my scar and that was painful for another 5-6 weeks IIRC.

This soon after you've had your baby you should still be able to call the hospital and speak to someone there, or alternatively go and see your GP.

Hope you are feeling better soon
