Bringing on contractions after waters broken?

Hi all,

Just looking for light at the end of the tunnel I think.

Waters broke yesterday evening, went to hospital got checked out (not dilated at all) and then sent home again. Since then I've had strong, painful contractions but they are still really irregular (like every 20 mins/half hour). Is there any way of speeding things up? Any positive tales? Feel like my body is just not responding properly. Booked in to be induced on Wednesday but don't feel I can go that long without sleep etc as get woken up with pain...

Any tips, tales or advice much appreciated.

You could try acupressure (search on Youtube for demos) or maybe nipple stim.

It does sound to me as though something must be happening if you can't sleep through the contractions. The end may not be all that far off, so it might be a good idea to rest as much as you can.

Lots of luck!

walk or bounce on birth ball?

Go for a long walk (or however long you can walk for).

Good luck

Hm , going up and down the stairs might also help.
But seriously, don't knacker yourself because you might need your energy soon .

Was talking to midwife today about exactly this and she was saying that sniffing Clary Sage oil should really help (I got some in boots) - they have apparently done proper studies on it. Wishing you lots of rest and good luck!
