Just curious really. When I was pg with dd I had a massive nesting spree on the Saturday and she was born on the Wednesday.

Im 39+3 weeks pg with dc2 and yesterday I had a bit of a nest (cleaned the pushchair and wheels and pulled the sofa to sort out a bookcase) but nothing as extreme as when I was pg with dd.

Anyone had a serious nest and then gone into soon afterwards?

Anyone not nested at all?

I always nested - eg clearing out cupboards that I had been perfectly happy with for months and did not need clearing out for the baby.

Oh and with dc1 I had a mad panic about a month beforehand that I hadn't bought enough stuff and got dh to come home early from work so we could go to Boots and buy up the whole shop!

My kitchen cupboards could do with a clean actually. That will be tomorrows job

DP is quite enjoying it I think because it means he has nothing to do!

I'd love to be nesting now (although only 34+2 atm) but we moved house 4 months ago and are currently waiting for bathroom to be redone (next week), at which point kitchen can be finished (needs to wait for bathroom radiator leak to be fixed under floor), then stuff can be moved from living room back into kitchen, THEN stuff moved from nursery to living room and can finally sort out the nursery! I just want to get it all tidy and organised, but I can't!

I nested hugely for about 2 weeks, getting everything all ready for the baby and my house all sorted out. At the end of those 2 weeks I had a haemorhage, got rushed to hospital, stayed there for 10 weeks, and then had ds2 7 weeks early.

One of the things that made being in hospital all that time, more bearable, was knowing that everything was all ready for the baby.

But I still think it's wierd that I starting doing that at 21 weeks.

I am nesting at mo (38+3) so will let you know. Its all pretty much done now- but I also cheated and got the cleaner round for 4.5 hours today to do in depth clean! (but I sorted cupboards etc!)

I di my nesting on the computer

I was worked at home basically looking after the accounts for a charity. The day DD was born I spent all day clearing up all the ledgers and got very obsessive about. Went down the post office posted all my paper work back and the went into labour at 37.2weeks 2 hours later. DD was born that evening.

fruitful There must be something in it for that to happen to you.

My mum did my nesting for me today - Does that count? Although, I have finally de scaled the steriliser which I have been meaning to do for weeks.

Lets hope its a sign

I am carefully avoiding any urge to clean in case it's nesting... Not sure if that will work but I have changed my mind on the whole going through labour thing, so the baby is welcome to stay put for a bit... (38 wks)
