Started having this last night - have been told the baby's been in the right position but pains so far have definitely been like sore constipationy type pains

Hi HUn,
I would not say that the pains you describe are a reliable indication of a posterior position.
Where you feel the baby move can be more reliable.
Have a look at this website-
www.spinningbabies.com/techniques/in-pregnancy/posterior-symptoms
Also if your bump is flattened or goes in near your belly button-
More info here-
wellroundedmama.blogspot.com/2009/04/belly-shape-and-fetal-position.html
However posterior position is not the only malpresentation and it does not do any harm to have good posture (forward leaning knees below hips) use the birth ball etc.
Lots of exercises on the spinning babies website.

I had those pains with both of mine.

Never had period like cramps or any pain around the stomach area!

Neither were back to back.

oh thanks diddi - just gave myself a palpation and feels to my totally untrained hands like it's on its side but still just got more or less constant dull ache round my sacrum area. no period pains either - so praps could be early stages then? hope so. it's about time this show got on the road!
