I had DD2 by ELCS 3 weeks ago and they didn't want to cut through my old scar because it was a bit low..?! So they cut just above it so that i have 2 scars. I don't mind this but now im wondering if i will be able to have another DC with 2 scars? Anyone else done this? It would be my 3rd section.. What do you think? I will speak to my GP at our 6 week check but just wondering if any of you have 2 scars and gone on to have a 3rd DC with no scar issues?

maybebaby I honestly don't know the answer to this but suspect it will be fine - they might keep a slightly closer eye on your in pregnancy but when I spoke to the consultant at my hospital she said they regularly do 4th & 5th CSs. I'd have thought 2 scars would be the same level of risk as 2 sections on the same spot except that perhaps the risks are slightly different.

Hope someone better informed comes along soon... Congrats on the birth of your DD. How was the ELCS by the way? I'm having one in a few weeks and getting a bit nervous about it

Hi somethinganything, thanks for your reply.
I hope you are right!

The cs went really really well, it was a lovely birth experience, calm and relaxed. I am recovering well and am really pleased with how everything went. Good luck for your section. I was very nervous too despite it being my 2nd, nerves and anxiety spoilt the first experience but this time was lovely. Try to relax and focus on having your baby instead of the fact you are having surgery. It is soon over and so worth it Wishing you all the best.

is it just 2 scars on the outside? I'm assuming that they still used the same scar on the uterus itself in which case it wouldn't be any worse than only having 1 scar on outside, IYSWIM?

thanks asuwere, i didnt think about that! Perhaps you are right and they went in through the same scar inside. I will ask about that. Thanks for replying.
