True knot in umbilical cord - chances of it happening again?

DS1, now 2, had a true knot in his umbilical cord when he was born, but was and is totally fine. Midwife at the time just talked about how rare it was. I am now 30 weeks pregnant expecting DS2 and started thinking about this again - am I more at risk of this happening again, as it's happened once?

Does anyone know? I am going to ask the midwife when I see her in a couple of weeks, but thought I'd post in the meantime.

Thanks for reading.

I had a true knot with my third pregnancy but not with the other two. It is very rare so don't worry.

1 of my babies (out of 9) had a true knot in her cord. The midwife who delivered her also spoke of how rare it was and brought in a couple of other midwives to look at it as it was so unusual. So, I think the chances of it happening to you again is extremely unlikely.

Thanks for posting, that is reassuring.

I guess I was thinking maybe it was knotted as the cord might have been on the long side and maybe the cord will be long again.

He's kicking around right now and very active, so he's fine now. I'll mention it to the midwife when I see her, but your posts are reassuring.

The funny thing is that with my first two the cord was really short so much so it was commented on. Then with ds2 the cord was really long hence the knot! It was also wrapped twice around is neck!

One of my four had a true knot. One of the others was born in her caul. Try not to worry about it, midwife also told me it was very rare.
