I'm gettng myself in a bit of a tiz and would love to have some reassuring experiences.

Induced with dd at 40+12, no luck with sweeps, no luck with gel/tablets, had waters broken, put on drip and dd born by forceps at 40+15. She was back to back and 9lb 6oz. There were a few other issues which left me feeling very frightened and out of control and never ever wanting to give birth again.

MW could not do sweep yesterday so booked again for induction tue when will be again 40+12.

I'm really hoping my body has done this before it will know what to do and be a bit quicker this time or that this baby could still turn to get out a bit easier (back to back again).

I'd love to hear if you were induced twice and if the second was quicker/easier/positive etc.

Thank you

Hi Carrielou

I was induced with both of my dcs.

With dc1 it was a nightmare, induced at 38 wks due to high blood pressure, very similar to your story, sweep, gel, drip, waters broken and ended up with a ventouse delivery generally an experience that I never intended to go though again.

I spent whole of 2nd pregnancy worried about the birth and was in tears when my blood pressure started going up at 37 weeks and was told I needed to be induced, however things could not have been different was given a sweep and 10 mins later waters broke, 33 mins after that dc2 had arrived!!! (Incidently both weighed 8lb 7oz so size made no difference)

I couldn't beleive that 2 labours could be so completely different.

Hope that's been some help to you and good luck for Tues
